LDESP AFRICA NEWS UPDATE: May 2014
The focus of the May 2014 LDESP Africa News Update includes articles, reports and analysis regarding the mass kidnapping of Nigerian schoolgirls and its implication of problems facing many African countries such as economic rise, socio-economic issues, security threats, and not least of all, the unpredictable pattern of international attention paid to incidents of tragedy in the continent. The latter part of this news update will build on the previous news update‘s consideration of the nexus between Economy and Security in the continent, with particular focus on the Central African Republic, South Sudan, Mali, and Libya.
